Josh Arzt is the Produce buyer for CERES Fair Food, an online organic grocer and carbon neutral food delivery service that is helping create more secure local food systems.

As of 2020, CERES Fair Food employs 67 people, with nearly half the workers being new immigrants or people seeking asylum. We will be speaking about the development of the organic movement in Australia, the organic wholesale market, and advice for young growers.

We are thinking about how to build a common resource (e.g. online working documents) on a range of topics, including things like suppliers, tool reviews, seed varieties, crop-planning, plant spacing, insurance as well as more complex topics like soil fertility, how to grow good spinach, cooperatives, soil management, decision making & budgeting, disease/pest management, and soil management etc.

The idea is that this resource will be created and managed by our community of farmers so that the information is relevant to us. We want to have a variety of content relevant to both the entry level farmer and the more experienced farmer. Regular knowledge share meetings...'
