Young Farmers Connect joins global voices for young farmers at the G20
Young Farmers Connect is proud to have recently co-designed and added our signature to a group statement of young farmers organisations from the G20 nations to be presented to ministers and officials at the G20 and UN Food Systems Summit. We are calling for recognition and radical change to policies, allocation of funding and consideration for our needs, concerns and to make suggestions to improve the livelihoods of rural communities. Our aim is to ensure the competitiveness and success of young farmers across the world, effective generational renewal policies and strategies which enable Young Farmers to be actively engaged :
as key stakeholders in the fight against climate change
to seek opportunities for the development of sustainable R&D solutions
to demand a protection of labour rights and fairer labour policies
to build awareness about farming and farmers
to address land access for new and young farmers
and to create equality along the food chain
We have also committed YFC to being a proactive and collaborative partner with the other young farmers organisations as global partners in the formation of an international young farmers advocacy group and have joined with the largest farming organisation in Italy representing some 70 thousand young farmers working in rural areas to protect and enhance the economic well-being and quality of life for farmers, ranchers, fishers, and rural communities through bottom-up approaches for the benefit of all young farmers.
