The wormbiz team would like to invite you along to the next young farmers meetup at our hillside worm farm 20 kms north of wingham on the 16th June.
Our farm is 10 steep acres, nestled in the foothills of the Killabakh valley. We specialise in vermiculture but are looking to integrate A bio diverse system which increases production through permaculture strategies and design.
Our first strategy was to build our water security so we implemented a series of terraces and ponds to increase our production capacity and water retention. Our project is heavily inspired by Sepp Holzer permaculture and were lucky enough to have Zach Weiss orchestrate our largest earthworks project to date.
The general nature of the site allows for some fun challenges with access: so 4wd only (unless perfect weather). There is limited parking at the top and further parking available just down the road.
We are lucky enough to have a special 30 min presentation on increasing biodiversity with Kerry and Chelsea. *more great info to come
So bring a plate a long and something to throw on the bbq, kids are more than welcome and dogs are too.
And of course it will be completely weather dependent.
There will be the opportunity to take some castings home and anyone wanting to buy larger quantities on the day, direct message me to let me know your bringing your trailer a long.
