P.S.
As per our ongoing conversations from these catch ups - in the background, and in some future meetings, some members of this group also hope to continue creating resources together. For reference our 1st catch up last month was about...
'Calling all current and emerging Melbourne-based farmers and market gardeners!
Wouldn’t it be great if there was a more efficient way to access high quality information directly relevant to your farming situation?
Community-generated online farming resources and
We are thinking about how to build a common resource (e.g. online working documents) on a range of topics, including things like suppliers, tool reviews, seed varieties, crop-planning, plant spacing, insurance as well as more complex topics like soil fertility, how to grow good spinach, cooperatives, soil management, decision making & budgeting, disease/pest management, and soil management etc.
The idea is that this resource will be created and managed by our community of farmers so that the information is relevant to us. We want to have a variety of content relevant to both the entry level farmer and the more experienced farmer. Regular knowledge share meetings...'
