Urban Farm Market Garden - Melbourne

Mini-market garden (250m2 in Ivanhoe 10km from CBD Melbourne) site available to a new or aspiring city grower!

Please share : what you’d grow on the site, do with the produce & what makes you fit to take on this urban ag?!

"I’d like to recoup a small margin of the money / labour spent developing the ground & it comes with some basic equipment (i.e. automated drip irrigation system etc) for at least $2000 (but open to less if i.e. you’re donating or utilising for community education or you're an asylum seeker/can't otherwise access paid work).

Young Farmers will be prioritised. I’m passing this site on by June/July 2021 for other farmwork / ag study time commitments.

Basic shed onsite, closed from suburban street by double gate.

20 x 10m x 0.75m ready made permanent beds.

Landlord MOU is to pay for water but otherwise 'free'.

They have no plans for the site for at least a couple of years).

My hope is to give an opportunity for someone to trial the idea of market gardening or flower production on the side whilst living locally in a city.

Happy to act as a mentor and be a call away, if that's wanted as well.
