Conservation Property Caretaker [ April 5 ]
Set in an idyllic sub-tropical landscape, this property is a unique opportunity for someone with an interest in nature conservation to be a part of an ongoing ecological rehabilitation project. The caretaker’s house is an original Queenslander set in a private and lush setting, easily accessible to schools and amenities in Mudgeeraba. This full-time position would suit someone with a background in agriculture, conservation or permaculture.
Your Duties will include:
Repair and maintenance of property assets and infrastructure
Safe operation of farm machinery and the use of tools and chemicals
Ecological weed, pasture and waste management including slashing
Maintain security
Support the activities of an ecological rehabilitation project
Assist cattle owner with the husbandry of a small herd of cattle
You will require:
Practical skills in relation to asset repair & maintenance and livestock
Ability to safely operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
Safe use of tools and chemicals
Practical application of ecological principles
Manual driver’s licence
A strong work ethic and ability to work productively as part of a small team
Ability to prioritise tasks in an efficient manner and work unsupervised
The ability to "self-start" and work flexible hours as required.
Competence with digital communication and applications
Willingness to undertake necessary training e.g. first aid, work safety etc
Australian citizenship or permanent residence or visa that allows FT work
