Pickers Wanted!

Spurrell Foraging are based in Warrandyte South and are seeking enthusiastic new team members to help with the picking and packing of their sustainably grown produce.

Job Brief

Working out of an acre in Warrandyte South and another 18 acres in Silvan, Spurrell Foraging grow edible leaves and flowers to supply high end cafes, restaurants, bars and distillers throughout Melbourne. They are seeking new casual employees to join their team and assist in fulfilling daily orders. Roles are available at both the Warrandyte South farm and Silvan farm.

The main duties include:

• -  Picking of the produce, including flowers and leaves

• -  Packaging produce into designated containers

• -  Sorting products in preparation for delivery

• -  Loading delivery vehicles

  Skills and requirements:
  - Ability to work autonomously and within a team
  - Good communication skills and willingness to show initiative
  - An enthusiastic approach to early mornings and all weather conditions
  - While some plant knowledge is favourable, none is needed as you will receive

  training and work closely alongside other team members
  - Up to date Covid-19 vaccinations are required
  - Work well under time constraints and in a high-pressure environment - Attention to detail and an eye for quality

  This role is great for university studies or as an extra source of income. Hours vary daily, depending on quantity of orders, with potential for more hours as knowledge of the plants and farming grows. This position is great if you enjoy being outdoors, patting dogs, learning about plants and Australian native flora and being surrounded by a group of like-minded, kind people.
