ABOUT HAPPY FARM
Happy farm is an 18-acre site, situated by the river in the Hawkesbury, Western Sydney. Practicing organic and regenerative farming practices, and reconnecting the public with local seasonal food.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a Full-time (Mon-Fri) skilled market gardener with a strong work ethic. This position will suit someone looking to expand their skills and aspires to develop a career in the regenerative agriculture industry. Entering into the first season of production, this is a unique opportunity to be involved in the startup of a market garden and the implementation of other production systems.
This role will work closely with our Farm Manager to grow certified organic produce from seed to sale in a 0.75-acre No-dig Garden, conducting tasks independently and as part of a small team.
A SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL DEMONSTRATE
- Previous experience in a farming role, either completed a past internship or a full season in a market garden or experience in the Horticulture industry
- Enjoy working in the elements- cold, rain and sunshine.
- Positive attitude and work ethic
- Organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Problem solving and critical thinking skills
- A current driver's license
- A passion for innovative and regenerative farming systems

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Bed preparation, sowing, planting, weeding, harvesting, washing and packing
- Delivering vegetable boxes to pick up locations
- Assist in record keeping and interpretation, such as field observations, yields and dispatch data
- Maintain a clean and productive market garden
- Be involved in planning and coordinating farming operations
- Biostimulant and compost tea foliar program
- Moving, and monitoring egg layers in a chicken tractor.
- Pruning and agroforestry implementation and management
- Tractor operations
REMUNERATION $25-$35ph
