Regenerative Farm Job

We are looking for someone who loves a hard day’s work, and dreams of a better life and food system to carry them through

So, who are we?

Echo Valley is a multispecies, stacked, integrated, family farm focused on regenerative agriculture and committed to producing food that is ethical, local, nutritious, and accessible. Transparency and integrity are standard values we place on ourselves and all the practices we undertake. Each activity or production system we practice on farm is done so with the 4 goods in mind,

Good for the Animal. Good for the Land. Good for the Farmer. Good for you.

So, with this in mind, we are looking for an individual that will fit both in skill set, value set and commitment set. Someone who has a knowledge and experience in working multispecies farming, and loves a hard day’s work, can think clearly in the daily inevitable farm curveballs!

You’ll predominately be responsible for independently managing cattle, pigs and poultry feed and water on a daily basis, so will need to have initiative on your own. In addition to the on farm work, you will need to make regular trips to Brisbane and the greater south east QLD to collect brewer’s grain, other waste stream and stock feed, so will need a minimum of a MR truck license. Comfortable working on a farm tractor and forklift is definitely a must too, along with a confidence in practical, hands-on tasks as your day will offer a variety of work scenarios.

Being in close proximity to animals – in a variety of sizes – means you’ll need both experience and confidence moving with, in and around them. We pride ourselves on the temperate nature of all our animals, however having a healthy respect for size, needs and movements of each is a definite must.

As a small family farm, we want someone who understands the last 7 years of sweat and tears that has been put into our small operation, and our commitment to continual improvement and innovation. You’ll become a valued part of the family, not just a blow in.

The role is for 21hrs/ week.

And is currently a temporary position, with potential for it to become ongoing for the right candidate.
