FARM MANAGER
Common Ground Project is currently looking for an experienced Farm Manager.
Common Ground Project is a not-for-profit 4-acre regenerative agriculture farm with an onsite restaurant that promotes food security by creating fair access to locally grown, healthy food. We are located in Freshwater Creek on the Victorian Surf Coast. Proceeds raised from the farm and restaurant are used to offer training, education and employment pathways for people facing disadvantage in the community.
Grounded in regenerative farming, and in recognition of the urgent need for a more resilient food system, we believe that connection to land, food and community can drive real, meaningful social change.
Regenerative farming practices
- Cattle work, upkeep of paddocks and house garden area
- All equipment / machinery supplied for use
- Stunning property to work (the boss is a good bloke as well)
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to be involved in regenerative farming on a 120 acre property with 60 head of cattle that is focused on becoming chemical free and providing a property that is wildlife friendly.
In addition to the cattle / farm side of the job there is also the maintaining of the house lawn, gardens, pool and vegetable garden area.
Acres and Acres COOP mission is to create a network of Market Gardens across Upper Murray and North East Victoria, to build resilience through the production of fresh produce across the local area.

We are looking for a Full-time Monday to Friday with some weekend work and flexibility. We are after a skilled market gardener with a strong work ethic. A leader is a must and someone who is flexible to change and passionate about further developing food systems.”

Milking this 100 dairy goat herd, preparing feed, administering treatments, caring for new mums and kids, participating in the grazing plan.
This position is under the pastoral award working approximately 35 to 38 hours per week
Holy Goat Cheese is regarded as one of the finest farmhouse goat cheese producers in Australia. The farm has been certified organic with the National Association for Sustainable Agriculture (NASAA) Australia since 2002. The farm has a Deed of Covenant with Trust for Nature for the conservation of land and provides a valuable stepping stone for biodiversity in the district. The farm and covenant are the foundation of the health and vitality of the goat herd and the cheese.
Overview Position description
This role will build on experienced workers skills or new to the industry workers skills through training and instruction on the farm. Training will cover all aspects of milking, handling, and care of the herd with attentive and sensitive observation towards the goats for their life. Assisting the cheesemakers forms an additional part of this role that can be built upon depending on experience, aptitude, interest and needs of the farm. This is a collaborative role with other team members and management working together to build the wellbeing of the people, farm, goats, and cheese. The Farm Operations Manager is charged with developing long and short term plans and is responsible for overseeing the worksite, coordinating all farm operational activities including: general day-to-day maintenance of farm site including farm buildings and equipment; garden and animal requirements; and, in consultation with the Community Engagement Manager, work for volunteers and community programs on the farm.
